Fifty-nine Deceits in Fahrenheit 911, Dave Kopel, Independence Institute

May be the last word on Fahrenheit 9/11. Not only does the guy document Moore's dishonesty (with links to transcripts, etc), but he even engages Moore's war room.

In places, he admits that the evidence could go both ways, but seems determined to logically demonstrate the careful orchestration behind many somewhat true statements leading to an overall false conclusion.

Very good reading.

Dave Kopel is a lot of things, including a very smart fellow. I knew him quite well in law school. But I doubt that he's "a Nader-voting lifelong Democrat." He is a big opponent of most gun regulation, and he was a heartfelt anti-Communist when I knew him (as I recall, he "sponsored" his own Afghan guerilla, back when they were whacking Russkies). Kopel is more of an "armed liberal" type than anything else, I would say. Unless he's had a big conversion.

But his piece on Michael Moore is very good.

Sorry for the wrong info about Kopel, Jack. I took it from The Political Edge (see my Blogroll). The internet is a marvelous means of information transmission -- but sometimes that information is wrong.

My apologies.
