I might be in the minority here in rooting for the regime, but they are better able to handle the militants than anyone else. I say that because the moral authority necessary to control the font of Islam more or less requires that no liberal democracy is established there. With the coming of western style democracy, the full wrath of pseudo protectors of the holy places would come from all sides, guns ablaze.
