No Taliban attacks: that's the news. Zawahiri's psy-ops tape about infidels cowering in bunkers looks even more ridiculous now, with 10 million Afghanis having participated in the election without any of the expected violence. These elections were clearly not perfect (witness the indelible ink flap), but without any Taliban attacks, the biggest threat to Afghanistan's election didn't come to pass. The lack of attacks, however, doesn't mean that the Taliban aren't biding their time to attack whoever is President until the Americans leave.
This election should make even Kerry supporters wonder if Bush isn't more correct than they assume about how to change terrorist havens.
